The first extensive biography of Martin Luther King to be published in three decades, Jonathan Eig’s latest book draws on recently released White House transcripts, F.B.I. documents, letters, and other materials that shed a whole new light on the civil rights leader. It is being heralded as “the new definitive life of King” (The New York Times) and “essential reading” (The Guardian). Bestselling author of six books, Eig’s previous biography, Ali: A Life, won a 2018 PEN America Literary Award and was a finalist for the Mark Lynton History Prize. He IS in conversation with Brandon Reid, Public Historian at the International African American Museum.
